How to take care of skin?
I regret taking good care of my skin…. said no one ever. In todays era where a person’s looks have gained importance in day to day lives, following a good daily skin care regime is wise decision
Cleansing – Use lukewarm water for face wash and bath. Restrict washing face to twice per day. Keep Bathing sessions short. Hot water and long bathing sessions can cause dry skin. Use face wash suitable for your skin type. Do not rub our skin. Use soft towel/ tissue to dap it dry. Use mild cleansers. Avoid harsh soaps and detergents that can rip off moisture from the skin and render it very dry. Always remember to clean your make up before you sleep. A dermatologist would be the best person to help you out with your choice of skincare products. Moisturising – Keep skin hydrated soft and supple has a long way to go in daily skin care routine. It keeps all skin diseases at bay and reflects a healthy skin. Using a gel based moisturizer for the face and oil based moisturizer for the body serves the purpose. Choose a moisturizer that suits your skin type and does not lead to clogging of pore and white heads on the face. Apply a moisturizer immediately after bath Sun protection – wear full clothing and apply broad spectrum sunscreen to save from UV rays of sunlight. Avoid staying outdoors during strong sunlight hours. Most of the aging and pigmentation problems on the face are because of cumulative sun damage to the skin. Sunscreen should be applied at least 20 to 30 minutes before stepping out in sunlight Balanced diet – what you eat and drink reflects not only on your belly but also on your skin & hair. Include a diet rich in omega fatty acids, proteins, vitamin c and antioxidants. Avoid junk and caffeinated drinks. It improves immune power and protects skin from various infections. Stress Management – stress is known to cause and aggravate many skin troubles like acne, psoriasis, eczema, hair loss, allergies Hydration – drink adequate water through out day Sleep – adequate regular sound sleep for 7 to 8 hours per day is required by adults. This is the time the bosy repairs its wear and tear. Lack of sleep can take a toll on skin and lead to various problems like acne, dark circles, hair loss etc… Lifestyle – quit on smoking drinking and other addictions.
